I love Scripture. It’s very important and incredibly comforting, especially during hard times.
It not only teaches us a limited history of GOD and HIS Creation, but it also gives us a glimpse into HIS character, along with hope in JESUS CHRIST.
Although, Christians are doing something that they’re not aware of. They’re worshiping their Bibles instead GOD.
Scripture is not the living word of GOD, it is the recorded word along with the history.
The Living Word of GOD comes from HIM speaking directly into HIS Children’s hearts. Into their Spirits. The Bible is not alive. It’s an inanimate object. HE is alive and HE speaks directly to HIS children, although they don’t understand that.
Yes, HE speaks to us when we’re reading Scripture, but that’s direct communication. HE’s not speaking from the Bible nor through it, instead HE is speaking directly, from HEAVEN, into our hearts.
JESUS knew Christians would worship the Bible, which is why HE gave us a warning in 3 Corinthians 3:3 and 3:6, John 5:39-40, and Matthew 4:4 which read:
3 Corinthians 3:3 NKJV
3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
3 Corinthians 3:6 NKJV
6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
John 5:39-40
39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
Matthew 4:4
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
Unfortunately, a lot of Christians aren’t aware of this. They don’t understand the Spiritual. They don’t understand that they’re worshiping GOD, who is a spirit. Instead, they’re focused on the physical.
This is why there’s no talk about Spiritual experiences in American churches today, because their focus is on the physical. Any talk about the Spiritual spooks them. They’re afraid! Which makes no sense because HE is incredibly loving and an absolute gentleman.
Because of the focus on the physical, there is no real transformation; which is why many Christians backslide or separate from HIM. They’re longing for something only HE can fulfill and pastors are failing at leading them to JESUS.
Since pastors themselves are blind and clueless, and they decipher Scripture using human logic instead of being taught by the HOLY SPIRIT, they rely on entertainment. It’s the only way they can keep people in seats, and their churches filled. It’s not truly about spiritual growth, and transformation of the heart, it’s about growing the number of people. It’s also a way to continue financial growth.
If I read a book about Albert Einstein, could I claim to be his best friend? Could I say that I know him?
Of course not.
So then why do so many Christians claim to know GOD just because they read the Bible?
If they were truly concerned about bringing people to JESUS, they would speak of the Spiritual and more importantly, they would speak what GOD wants them to speak. Instead they speak on their own.
Put your Bible down, and speak to your HEAVENLY FATHER directly. Open your heart. Without fear nor doubt. Don’t hold back. Don’t hide anything. Don’t be ashamed. Open up 100% and speak to HIM. If you do, HE will answer. Maybe not right there and then, maybe in a few minutes, or hours, or even days. If you don’t feel the desire, ask HIM to give it to you. Don’t be discouraged, and don’t give up. Keep putting in the effort, never stop seeking HIM.
HE speaks to HIS Children (HE refers to these as “calls”), but they’re not listening nor paying attention. They’re not sensitive enough to how HE communicates. The good thing is that HE can train you if you ask.
